Black Pepper Powder, Piper nigrum, Peppercorn, Maricha is native and extensively cultivated in Kerala, on the southwestern coast of India, and in other tropical regions.  It is the most common spice added to cuisines around the world, and often paired with salt at meal tables. Black pepper or pepper is one of the most prized spices since ancient time. The pungency of this black berry has led to a great many expeditions to find the land of peppers. Due to its pungent and heating properties it is used extensively in Ayurveda and TCM for healthy digestion.*
