Tamalpatra also known as Tej Patta or  Indian bay leaf, is a tree that is native to India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and China. The leaves give off a clove-like aroma with a peppery taste making it a great culinary addition as well as beneficial to your health. Dried and ground, Indian Bay leaves are added to spice mixes like Garam Masala. It is warming and helps in pacifying Vata and Kapha dosha and increasing Pitta dosha.
