What is Oil Pulling?
Oil pulling or oil swishing is a simple, cost effective, natural, detoxifying remedy
that involves pulling or swishing oil in the mouth for 10 to 20 minutes. It then
"pulls" all types of toxins from the body and into the oil in the mouth, allowing you to spit out those toxins for oral and systemic health benefits. The oil should not be swallowed as it contains bacteria and toxins.*
How oil pulling really works:
The Indian Journal of Dental Research wrote, "It is claimed that the swishing of oil in the mouth activates enzymes and draws toxins out of the blood.” There are several reasons that oil pulling is likely to be highly effective in killing the bacteria in the gum pockets.
1. Most oils have antibacterial properties. Studies have been done on sesame oil, sunflower seed oil and coconut oil that demonstrate their ability to kill bacteria. In addition, some oils, such as sesame oil also have anti-inflammatory properties.
2. The fact that oil pulling sessions run 15-20 minutes is crucial. It allows time for
the oil to "seep" and "penetrate" deep into the pockets. Unlike brushing, the
extended time of the procedure keeps the antibacterial agent in the mouth long
enough to work its way down into the protected pockets and crannies of your gums
and reach the harmful bacteria where they live.
Oral Klenz
ORAL HYGIENE THERAPY
Ingredients: Organic Sesame Oil, Organic Coconut Oil and Organic Turmeric
Sesame Oil is popular in alternative medicine—from traditional massages and treatments to the modern day number of therapeutic uses. The traditional Indian medical practice of Ayurveda uses sesame oil as one of the very few oils as a remedy for toothaches and gum disease in oil pulling therapy and to pacify stress related symptoms. Ongoing research also indicates that the rich presence of antioxidants and polyunsaturated fats in sesame oil could help control blood pressure.*
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a wonder substance with antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral properties that could combat disease, clear up acne and speed up metabolism. It is used as a skin moisturizer, helping with dry skin and reduce protein loss when used in hair. Rinsing mouth with a tablespoon of coconut oil for 10 to 15 minutes
helps prevent bad breath, remove plaque and soothe inflamed gums.*
Turmeric
Turmeric* (Curcuma Longa) is a culinary spice used as both medicine and food for centuries, accumulating evidence suggests that this is a promising preventive agent for a wide range of diseases, probably due largely to its anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has been shown to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer activities and thus has a potential against various malignant diseases, diabetes, allergies, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease and other chronic illnesses.
SUGGESTED USE: Take 1 to 2 teaspoons of Oral Klenz and swish it around for 10–20 minutes in your mouth on an empty stomach, then spit it out. Rinse your mouth well with water. Use once per day. Do not swallow it.
