Karla's previous corporate professional journey spanned over 23 years in the NASD/SEC Financial Investment Industry, where she honed her expertise in Brokerage Account Administration, Financial Planning, Investment Advisory, Federal & State Investment Law, Life/Health Insurance, Staff Coaching & Training, Marketing, Business Development, Networking, and Public Relations. She held roles in the two largest firms on Wall Street, shaping her profound understanding of the financial landscape.

However, her path took a transformative turn when she encountered Yoga in 1997 and Ayurveda in 2010, driven by her own struggles with physical ailments and mental stress. Through dedicated study and personal healing, including a remarkable 100 lb. weight loss, Karla unearthed a profound passion for natural medicine and the profound affects of these ancient practices.

In 2015, she chose to transition from the corporate realm to wholeheartedly embrace holistic healing as her primary pursuit.

Karla is a lifelong student of physical and mental natural medicine, investing thousands of hours in study of classical teachings of Yoga, Ayurveda, Meditation, Sānkhya Philosophy, Vedic Psychology, Ayurvedic Herbology, Panćakarma Therapy and The Human Condition. She has studied in the US, Italy, and India. Her commitment to learning extends to Western Anatomy/Physiology, Nutrition, and Herbalism, evident in her participation and personal sponsorship of numerous courses, workshops, festivals and national conferences.

Currently based in the Western Suburbs of Phoenix, AZ, with a secondary location in her hometown of Chicago at Soderworld Wellness Center, Karla operates her private Ayurveda & Yoga practice and facilitates 200hr/300hr Yoga Teacher Training Programs. Her offerings include public and private Yoga sessions, Meditation, Ayurveda Health Consultations, Seasonal Group Cleanse Programs, and
Panćakarma Body Therapies, fostering profound shifts in health within her community.

Beyond her personal practice, Karla shares her corporate expertise to mentor other holistic business entrepreneurs, offering insights into best practices and has been invited to speak at national Ayurveda conferences on the subject. She actively participates in Integrative Medical Conferences and Naturopathic Colleges, advocating for Ayurveda's recognition as a clinical medical care option in the USA.

Karla continues to share these healing modalities as visiting faculty at various Yoga Studios and Teacher Training Programs in Chicago and Phoenix. She serves as a Yoga Instructor at The Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago and visiting Faculty for Ananda Ayurveda Academy in Willowbrook, IL.

Driven by a passion to advance Ayurveda's authentic practice and education in the USA, Karla champions the establishment of Education Standards, Credentialing, and Licensure, positioning Ayurveda as a recognized form of natural medicine.
